An Extension Of the Port
It is exactly as it sounds, the intake runner in the manifold should be a complimentary extension of the port.
In a perfect world we do not want the manifold to cause any airflow loss, but in reality, design constraints make it difficult. As porter's, one of our job is to minimalise that loss.
But we also need to take runner length, size and taper into the mix. Between those 3 variables, we can tune your manifold to compliment the engine combination; we can tune where your RPM band is and how wide/narrow it is.
Before you spend thousands of dollars on a new set of heads, contact us to make sure your manifold is not restricting your combination.
